556,955. Liquid fuel burners. DONCASTER & SONS, Ltd., D., and MARSHALL, R. W. April 30, 1942, No. 5833. [Class 75 (i)] Liquid fuel discharged in a hollow conical divergent stream past an adjustable tapered valve head f in a fuel supply passage d is met by primary air discharged through the convergent end c of a passage b surrounding the passage d and with secondary air passing through an annular throat q between the end c and the bell mouth of a tubular atomising chamber n threaded in a nut s secured in the secondary air supply casing r. The primary and secondary air may be supplied through a bifurcated pipe fitted with control vales v, w. The casing r may be fitted with baffles x to direct the air towards the burner axis. Additional secondary air issues as a convergent stream through the annular space between the nut s and casing r.
