Abstract

556,088. Safety razors. HEIDE, H. C. March 16, 1942, No. 3452. [Class 30] A pivoted blade holder for safety razors has a guard on each side of the blade, the movement of one guard into or out of operative shaving positon being accompanied by a similar simultaneous and relative movement of the other guard. The guard 22 is provided with teeth 25 and is pivoted at 23 to brackets 21 on the side members 11, 12 of the frame, a finger piece 24 extending towards the rear. The guard carries the pivots 34 of the second guard 30 which overlies the blade 20 and has a slot 32 engaging pins 33 carried by the brackets 21 so that movement of the guard 22 causes similar movement of the guard 30. This guard consists of a plain bar which may be shouldered at each end to prevent damage to the blade, and in the open position lies in front of and guards the blade edge. The blade holder 15 may have blade-engaging projections as described in Specification 286,057, [Class 30], and end clamps 16. Specification 279,286, [Class 30], also is referred to.
