Razors, safety; pocket and like knives. -A holder for doubleedged safety-razor and like blades for use in stropping or as a knife comprises a handle 4, in the form of a sheath open at one side, and an arm 10 adapted to hold the blade and pivoted in the sheath at or near its centre so that it can be turned into the sheath and be secured therein on either side of the pivot to expose one edge of the blade for use and shield the other. The sheath may be formed by bending a strip of metal into substantially bottle-shaped crosssection, the ends being cut back slightly to form tongues 6 which are bent inwards to meet and projections 8 being formed on the inside of the corners by bulging the metal inwards. The arm is formed by doubling a piece of metal at the centre of its length, one prong of the arm being provided with spigots 12 to enter the holes in the blade and registering holes in the other prong to hold the blarle in place; the arm is secured in the sheath by the end thereof springing past the projections 8 and resting on the tongues 6. The widened portion of the sheath gives the correct angle when stropping the blade. The sheath may be built up instead of being formed from a single strip of metal and one of the prongs of the arm may be pivoted to the other or both may be pivoted separately in the sheath; the arm may be held in the sheath by friction only.
