554,724. Inductances. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. (Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken). Jan. 12, 1942, No. 458. [Class 38 (ii)] An inductance coil 2 having a slidable magnetic core 6 for tuning, for example, the high frequency circuits of superheterodyne radio receivers, is provided with a non-magnetic conducting body 3 or ring 5 adjustably mounted at one or both ends of the coil so as to be loosely coupled with the winding 2 when the core is completely withdrawn, thus permitting the law of variation of the inductance to be adjusted during manufacture for tracking purposes.
