[Class 61 (ii)] A device for use in salvaging bales of rubber damaged by fire enabling them to be securely held whilst the damaged parts are trimmed away comprises a bench a provided at one side with a winch drum d to which a chain k is attached and adapted to be operated by a lever h and locked by a ratchet and pawl i, the other end of the chain after passing over the bale l being secured to a bracket m by a locking pin n whereupon the lever k is depressed to grip the bale.
