552,875. Optical gauging-apparatus. AKT.- GES FUR MECHANISCH-OPTISCHE ERFINDUNGEN. June 17, 1942, No. 8322. Convention date, July 15, 1941. [Class 106 (ii)] [Also in Group XX] Means for comparing the profile and measurements of an object and of an enlarged standard comprises a microscope having means for viewing them simultaneously. As shown, the object 2 on a table 1 carried by crossed slides is illuminated by a lamp 3, condenser 4, reflector 6, and collimating lens 7. The standard consists of an enlarged drawing 16 held against a glass plate 13 and lighted by lamps 14 and a diffusing plate 15. A reflector 17, a reversing prism, and an objective 19 project an image of the drawing into the focal plan of an eyepiece 11, and an objective 8 produces an image of the object 2 in this plane ; a transmitting and reflecting prism 10 unites 'the image beams. A graticule 22 for measuring angles &c. may be provided in the image plane, and adjustable diaphragms 5, 18, and contrasting or complementary colour filters 20, 21 'may be provided in the beams.
