Abstract

485,456. Optical systems. WILLE, C. (Horst, L.) Sept. 19, 1936, No. 25521. [Class 97 (i)] In a light-dividing system for colour photography &c. comprising a number of prism blocks which split the light so as to form a number of component images in the same focal plane, one or more of the blocks is or are mounted so as to be universally adjustable to enable the images to be accurately positioned. As shown the light from an objective 2 is received by a prism 3 having an internal partly-reflecting surface which directs part of the light to a reflecting prism 4, from which it passes through a glass block 6. The light transmitted by the prism 3 enters a second prism 3a having a partly reflecting surface which directs part of the light to a prism 5 and block 7. Each of the blocks 6, 7 is universally adjustable, the block 6 being mounted in a holder 8 having a ball extension 12 secured to a plate 14 which is attached to the housing 1 by four screws 16. Set screws 18 passing through the upper surface of the housing bear on the plate 14 and further screws 20 passing through the sides of the housing bear on the holder 8. A similar adjustment is used for the block 7.
