Abstract

509,269. Colour photography. INTERNATIONAL CRISCOLOUR CORPORATION. Jan. 18, 1938, No. 1698. Convention date, Jan. 18, 1937. [Class 97 (i)] An optical system for producing a number of juxtaposed colourrecord images comprises two objectives placed one on each side of and on the same axis as a prism made from a single piece of glass and having a number of refracting surfaces. A diaphragm 1 is placed in the plane of the image formed by the first objective 3 and the monoblock prism 5 is placed in such a position as to form a number of juxtaposed images (four in the form shown) of this image, the images being projected by the objective 7 on to the film 13 through colour filters 14... 17. The apex angles 6 of the prism, when projected on to the base are within 10 minutes of 90 degrees. The prism may be of compound achromatic form consisting of two monoblock prisms 8, 9, Fig. 3, having different refracting angles and held in spaced relationship in a tube 10 by rings 11, the space between them being filled by an optically clear organic liquid 12. having a high boiling point (200-300‹C.) and high dispersion. Each of the filters is preferably such as to transmit 60 to 80 per cent. of the light incident upon it. Specification 441,907 is referred to.
