Abstract

431,256. Sight - - testing apparatus. ZEISS, C., [Firm of], Carl-Zeiss-Strasse, Jena, Germany. March 18, 1935, No. 8327. Convention date, March 24, 1934. [Class 97 (i)] A device for use in adjusting the position of an eye to be examined by a sighttesting apparatus such as a perimeter, consists of two optical systems each producing on the eye to be examined a real image of a diaphragm &c., the two pencils of imaging rays being so directed as to intersect in the image plane. The apparatus shown consists of a tube 1 containing a source of light 2, lenses 3, 3<1> and diaphragms 4, 4<1> adjacent the lenses. The ends of the tube are provided with heads 5, 5<1> carrying lenses 6, 6' and reflectors 7, 71 for imaging the diaphragms on the eye, the reflectors being adjustable to cause the two imaging ray pencils to intersect in the image plane. The diaphragms may have the form shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the image formed on the eye then consisting of two concentric rings.
