Abstract

595,729. Optical apparatus. ROTHSCHILD, A. April 15, 1946, No. 6670/45. [Class 97 (i)] A binocular magnifier comprises a screen 3 preventing access of light to the eyes except through lenses 1, 2 and lamps 10, 11, light from which is directed to the object under examination by lenses 12, 13 and/or reflectors. The screen may have a head band 4 or be provided with a handle or standard. In a modification, a single lamp is mounted in a universal joint on the top of the screen. A transparent rod may be used to reflect light from the lamps to the field of view.
