1,244,662. Opthalmometers. R. RODENSTOCK [trading as OPTISCHE WERKE G. RODENSTOCK]. Nov. 18, 1968 [Nov. 16, 1967], No. 54698/68. Addition to 1, 209, 476. Heading G2J. An opthalmometer as in the Parent Specification has an additional lens system 16 positioned between the eye 2 and the observation microscope and so arranged that a principal point of the additional system falls in the plane of the image of the test marks 11, 12 behind the normal examining position. The focal length of the additional system is equal to the distance of the image of the test marks from the entrance pupil. The lens system 16 comprises two lens elements 32, 31 positive and negative respectively, which may be spaced from one another or cemented, there also being an image doubling device consisting of a polarizer as in the parent Specification or two glass plates 61, 62 rotatable in opposite directions.
