Abstract
853,721. Binocular telescopes. DE MONTREMY, J. Jan. 8, 1958 [Jan. 9, 1957], No. 789/58. Class 97(1) A binocular telescope comprises two identical parallel monocular telescopes disposed side by side and each including an objective, an eyepiece, an erector lens element therebetween and a diverging lens to locate the exit pupil at a considerable distance behind the eyepiece, at least the objectives having diameters of from 4 to 6 centimeters and the exit pupils diameters of from 3 to 5 centimeters and located behind the corresponding eyepieces at from 15 to 30 centimeters, the distance between the telescopes being equal to the average distance between the eyes of normal persons. By this arrangement location of the eyes of an observer is rendered less critical. The periscopic form shown comprises objective 1, field lens 3, erector lens 4, negative lens 5 and eyepiece 2. Numerical data are given for one example of such a system. 10, 101 indicate pellets of a substance intended to absorb moisture.
