Abstract

907,679. Stereo-microscopes. ZEISS-STIFTUNG, CARL, [trading as ZEISS, C., [Firm of]]. April 4, 1961 [April 2, 1960], No. 11914/61. Class 97 (1). The stereoscopic base in a stereo-microscope having a single main objective 9 (Fig. 2) is continuously-variable by adjusting the axial separation of prism systems 1, 3 and 2, 4. The system 1, 3 is mounted on a plate 41 (Fig. 1) engaged by left-hand threads on parallel screws 5, 6, while a plate 42 supporting system 2, 4 is engaged by right-hand threads on the same screws, which are geared together for simultaneous rotation. As the distance between the systems varies so does the stereoscopic base b corresponding to the fixed distance a between the optical axes of Galilean telescopes 7, 8 which are longitudinally slidable in the microscope housing. These telescopes and intermediary objectives 13, 14 delay the image to eyepieces 15, 16.
