Abstract
830,271. Lens mounts. ZEISS JENA C. VEB. Sept. 11, 1956, No. 27811/56. Class 97(1) At least one of the lens components of a composite lens system is fixed to the mount by means of cement without having any other carrying connection with any part of the mount. As shown in Fig. 2, the first component 1 is mounted by a screw ring 11, the middle component is secured by cement to spring tongues 12' on the mount 12 whilst the rear component 3 is cemented to similar tongues 13<SP>1</SP> on a tubular mount 13. Alternatively the edges or faces of the components may be secured by cement. Adjustment of the lens to the cemented may be effected as shown in Fig. 5. The mount 14 carrying the first lens 15 of the system is supported by a memo ber 18 in which is adjustable the second lens 16 of the system, this lens being carried by a knife-ring 22 adjustable on a tube 19 by two perpendicular screws 23. The lens 16 is viewed by an auto-collimator comprising eyepiece 30, graticule 31, illuminated graticule 34, reflecting cube 32 and objective 29 adjustable along the axis of the eyepiece. The lens 16 is adjusted transversely of the optical axes of lens 15 by two perpendicular screws 26 and then cemented in position in the mount 17.
