Abstract

395,308. Gun sights. JUNG, K., 2, Kufsteinerplatz, Munich, Germany, and GERBER, W. N., 15, Freigutstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland. June 18, 1932, No. 8805/33. Divided on 392,001. [Class 92 (ii).] A zero-setting device for prismatic gun-sighting telescopes, of the kind wherein the casing G carrying the optical system and the fixed graticule is adjustable in the telescope holder T, comprises a three-point ball mounting in which the ball-carriers are rigidly or movably mounted in the casing G at the points I, II, III, and are adapted to be jointedly clamped in seats on the holder. The joints are adjustable by screws arranged in the direction of the optical axis and can be clamped in the adjusted position. In the form shown in Fig. 4, after removing the cap 8 and easing the screwed bush 6, the screw 7 can be turned in the holder to adjust the casing G about an axis passing through the other two points of suspension. In a modification, Fig. 7, the ball joints 16 are integral with the casing G and move in cylindrical recesses in a member 18 adjustable by turning a screwed sleeve 17 the parts being locked by a nut 20 and by a grub screw 22.
