Abstract
335,864. Baxter, H. Jan. 17, 1930. Optical-protection apparatus and systems; anamorphotic systems. - In kinematographic or other optical projection systems used for the projection of panamoric pictures and comprising a distorting system in conjunction with an image forming system, there is combined with the distorting system 3, 4 an ordinary spherical optical system 5, 6 for rendering substantially parallel the rays entering the distorting system. By this arrangement the aberration due to the cylindrical lenses 3, 4 is considerably reduced. The cylindrical lenses 3, 4 are convergent and divergent respectively and of different focal lengths, and the lenses 5, 6 are ordinary spherical lenses. The lenses are mounted in pairs as shown so as to be relatively adjustable individually and as separate systems. They may also be mounted on a base so as to be capable of removal from the axis of the projector 1.
