Abstract

364,004. Microscopes. LEITZ GES., E., Optical Works, and LIHOTZKY, E., 10, Frankfurterstrasse, both in Wetzlar, Germany. Aug. 25, 1930, No. 25338. [Class 97 (i).] An illuminating device for a microscope adapted to examine opaque objects by reflected light comprises an annular catoptric condenser surrounding the objective and mounted independently thereof. As shown in the Figure, the mount D of an annular catoptric condenser A is adjustable by means of a screw thread relatively to the stage B upon which rests the object O. Light entering through G from a source at the side is reflected parallel to the axis ZZ by an annular reflector E into the condenser A and thence on to the object.
