[Class 44] A document or like case of the kind having a carrying handle on the cover flap 8 is provided with fastenings of the kind in which a loop is passed over a staple and secured by a flexible member passed through the staple, the fastening comprising a staple 1 rigidly secured to an attachment plate 2 riveted to the bag and engaged by a loop 10 carried by a flexible strap 5 secured to flap 8. The securing strap 7 which is passed through the staple above loop 10 may be secured to the body of the case or, as shewn, secured to the flap 8 above strap 5. The staple and loop are of circular cross-section wire, one side of loop 10 being secured by stitching in a fold 9 of strap 5, the loop having an off-set or extension located within the fold to prevent pivotal movement of the loop on the strap. A modification is described in which loop 10 provides a number of apertures in tandem through any of which the staple may be passed, thus providing some capacity adjustment for the bag. In this modification any suitable adjustable locking device may be used in place of the non- adjustable lock 12 shown. A padlock may be passed through the staple if desired.
