Abstract
260,897. Chapman, D. G. June 11, 1926. Hand-bags.-A hand-bag has attached to the back a foldable member 14 forming a book-holder. The ends of the part 14 are provided with pocketlike recesses to hold the covers of the book formed either by the attachment thereto of parts 15 sewn to the sides 16, 17, or by folding over the ends as shown in Fig. 3 and partly securing them to the sides, leaving flap portions 27. An additional holding means, comprising a strap 18, secured fixedly at one end and detachably at the other to the holder, is shown as provided, or a book-marker may be provided in place of or in addition to the strap. The book-holder is held closed by fasteners on a tab 21, co-operating with a fastener on the back, and carries at its free end one loop of the handle of the bag.
