551,258. Fluid-pressure servomotor-control systems. DODSON, E. Oct. 1, 1941, No. 12689. [Class 135] The receiver unit of a remote control system comprises a spring-controlled biasing piston, normally maintained inoperative by pressure in the pipe line, but effective to move a pressure sensitive element to a predetermined position when the pressure fails. The system comprises an element 30, Fig. 2, acted on by the pressure in the pipe line 60 from the sender unit and balanced by a spring 31, a valve 15, and a servomotor piston. A floating lever 32 is connected at one end to the element 30 and at the other to a bellcrank lever 35, operated by an incline 42 carried by the servomotor piston rod, and the valve 15 is connected to the lever 32 at a point nearer its connection with the lever 35. Leakage is evacuated and air vented by means described in Specification 551,259. Should pressure in the pipe line fail, a piston 56 is moved by a spring 54 to cause a tappet 58 to move the element 30 into a predetermined position. In the form shown in Fig. 3, failure of pressure in the pipe line 60 allows a spring 154 to move the biasing piston 156 so that high pressure is admitted from a line 72 to complete the movement of the piston.
