Abstract

1,029,650. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. HONEYWELL Inc. April 7, 1965 [April 14,1964],No.14707/65. Heading G3P. A pneumatic control apparatus comprises two identical relays 12,14 having 106,108 connected to opposite ends of a piston-cylinder actuator 18. A common control member 76 is actuated by a transducer 16 comprising a diaphragm 78 subjected to one or two signal pressures or a signal pressure from an electro-pneumatic transducer. The member 76 carries collars 98, 100, 102, 104 such that when the member is moved from a neutral position, one spring loaded hinged valve 56 or 60 and 54 or 58 is opened to connect one end of the actuator 18 to a fluid pressure supply and the other end to exhaust. Movement of the piston actuates the controlled member 197, which may be a valve, and acts through levers 184, 191 to rotate a cam 198 which varies the compression of a spring 212 to move the control member 76 to its neutral position. In a modification, the piston acts directly through a lever on the spring.
