Abstract
1,099,407. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT TEPLOENERGETICH-ESKOGO PRIBOROSTIOJENIYA. Jan. 28, 1965, No. 3758/65. Heading G3P. A fluid system having two modes of operation comprises a pneumo-mechanical unit 1 housing a bellows 2 having a nozzle 5 in its base part connected to a fluid supply 30 through conduit 6. The nozzle 5 co-operates with a ball 1 to control the pressure in the bellows, the ball being engaged by an abutment rod 10. The rod 10 passes between roller 16, 17 and the roller 17 is carried by a spring arm 18 urged into contact with a cam 19 on a rod 20 moved by fluid-pressure acting on a diaphragm 22. A valve 8 has a diaphragm 39 cooperating with a nozzle 40, the opposite sides of the diaphragm being connected to the pressure supply 30 and the conduit 6. A second valve 27 has a diaphragm set controlling nozzles 35, 36, the nozzle 35 being connected to a pressure supply P 2 and the nozzle 36 to a nozzle 40 of valve 8. The opposite end chambers of the valve 27 are connected to the output line 37 which is also connected to the exterior of bellows 2. The two modes of operation are effected by the presence or absence of a signal P 1 on the diaphragm 22. If a signal P 1 acts on diaphragm 22, the rod 20 moves upwards to allow disengagement of the roller 17 from the rod 10 which is thus free to move. The pressure P 1 also acts in valve 27 of open nozzle 35 and close nozzle 36 and the output pressure 37 is thus equal to the pressure supply P 2 . As the output pressure acts on the exterior of bellows 2, the bellows assumes a position in which the forces are equal. Under this action, the valve 8 has no effect. If the pressure signal P 1 is zero, the rod 10 is clamped by the rollers and the valves 8 and 27 then control the supply and exhaust of pressure to and from the output 37 to maintain a constant pressure set by the position of the rod 10. The rod 10 may be adjusted through a cam 15 to varying the setting of the output pressure.
