Abstract
1,009,650. Fluid pressure servomotor systems. RECHERCHES ETUDES PRODUCTION June 6,1963 [June 7, 1962], No. 22627/63. Heading G3P. [Also in Division B7] A hydraulic servomotor (Fig. 1) for steering an aircraft nosewheel, comprises a double-acting piston driven by pressure fluid from a supply conduit 8 distributed by a slide valve 3 the position of which is adjusted by varying the pressure in a conduit 10 by a pressure regulator 5 and by feedback from the piston 1 through a lever 14 and spring 11, or (Fig. 3) through a cam 15 on the steering axis of the wheel R. The apparatus shown in Fig. 3 includes a further slide valve 17 and a stop valve 16 in the conduit 8. When the valve 16 is dried (Fig. 2 not shown) the valve 17 is urged to its other extreme position by a spring 18, allowing opposite sides of the piston 1 to communicate through a conduit 21 thus preventing steering control. Shimmying of the wheel 13 damped by valves 22, 23.
