Abstract

1,169,626. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. BENDIX CORP. Sept. 18, 1967 [Sept.30, 1966], No.42426/67. Heading G3P. A fluid device for positioning an output control member 78, Fig. 1, according to a variable input condition operative to actuate an input valve 34 controlling the pressure in a conduit 38 which is connected to a high regulated fluid-pressure source 40 through a restrictive orifice 42 and to a low regulated pressure reservoir through the input valve comprises a pivotally mounted lever 60 to actuate a servo-valve 58 controlling a servopiston 70, the lever being subjected on the one hand to a first torque generated by a movable element 44 responsive to the fluid-pressure in the conduit and on the other hand to a second opposed torque generated by return force means 82 acting through feedback means 98 responsive to the position of the output control member. The valve 34 may be connected to a temperature sensitive probe 24. The orifice 42 may be controlled by a second valve member responsive to a further variable and the return force may be applied to the feedback means by a second lever pivoted at right angles to the lever 60 and subjected to the pressure in the conduit 38 as well as to that from the source 40. In Fig.4, a second roller 122 responsive to a second variable condition, such as temperature, pressure or lever position is interposed between the valve 58 and the return force means 82. The roller 122 may, alternatively, be interposed between the element 44 and the valve while the conduit 84 supplying the return force means terminaters in a valve, similar to the valve 34, responsive to a third variable.
