Abstract

916,973. Fluid-pressure servomotor-control systems. BELL AEROSPACE CORPORATION. May 15, 1959, No. 16694/59. Class 135. An hydraulic servo-mechanism comprises a pilot flapper valve 52 which controls a piston relay valve P which in turn controls an actuator 67. The valves 52 and P are in a housing 10. The flapper is formed by a leaf-spring extending from a stem 46 and is located between two nozzles 34, 35, the back pressures of which act on opposite ends of the piston relay valve P. The stem 46 is actuated by an electrical input signal to one of the coils 58, 59 or by a mechanical input signal to the rod 60. The lower end of the flapper spring 52 is received in a V-shaped groove 54 of the land 12 of the piston valve P, thus providing a mechanical feed-back connection between the piston valve P and the flapper valve 52. A rod 80 and a spring 81 form a mechanical feed-back connection between the actuator 67 and the stem 46 of the flapper valve.
