Abstract

1,164,043. Valves. UNITED AIRCRAFT CORP. 5 Dec., 1967 [30 Dec., 1966], No. 55367/67. Heading F2V. [Also in Division H1] As shown, Fig. 1, a fluid valve actuator comprises a coil 10 and an armature 20 which is supported by a cylindrical bellows spring 14. The armature co-operates with a fluid nozzle 30 to provide proportional control of the fluid flow rate. The armature may be provided with one or more apertures 22 to allow the fluid to enter the cavity 26 to equalize the pressure and to provide some measure of damping and cooling.
