[Class 135] A servomotor device for controlling apparatus at a distance of the kind comprising a sender unit adapted to maintain a variable predetermined air pressure in a conduit communicating with a receiver unit comprising a valve controlled power device provided with follow-up gear, has the sender unit provided with inlet and exhaust valves actuated by a diaphragm or capsule acting through a rocking member. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the actuating diaphragm f is variably loaded by a spring g<10> adjusted by a hand operated cam device g<13> engaging a cap g<12> on the spindle of the spring abutment g<11>. The rocking member g<6> is pinned at g<8> to a post g<9> carried by the diaphragm and is provided with transverse arms adapted to operate alternately the spindles of a loose ball inlet valve and a needle exhaust valve. One form of receiver unit is shown in Fig. 5, and comprises a power piston d<7> linked to the member to be controlled and controlled by piston auxiliary valve d<1>. The valve d<1> is actuated by a pressure sensitive capsule d arranged in a chamber c connected by a pipe e with the sender unit. To obtain a follow-up action the anchorage of the pressure sensitive member is connected by a lever d<9> with the piston rod of the power device. in a modification the piston control valve is replaced by two loose ball valves and two lift valves actuated by a multi-armed lever. This lever is operated by a spring loaded diaphragm subject to sender pressure and mounted in a movable chamber connected by a lever with the power device. Specification 419,472 is referred to.
