[Class 8 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIX] In a fluid transmission system the line for conveying pressure fluid to the actuated mechanism comprises, at least in part, two pipes connected in parallel, each of the junctions of said pipes being provided with valve arrangements for automatically isolating one pipe when fracture occurs therein,'the service being maintained through the other pipe. The disposition of the two pipes a, a<1> and of the valve arrangements is shown in Fig. 1. Each valve arrangement comprises, Fig, 3, a diaphragm c connected by levers d, d<1> with the valves e, e<1> controlling the supply to the pipes a, (t<l> ; buffer springs b2, b<3> are provided. A modified valve arrangement is shown in Fig. 5. The diaphragm may be replaced by a capsule, bellows, or other pressuresensitive device.
