Abstract

1,265,684. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. UNITED AIRCRAFT CORP. June 26, 1969 [Aug. 12, 1968(2)], No.32262/69. Heading G3P. An aircraft engine bleed air system for airconditioning and pneumatic drives comprises a duct 14 having a valve 16 for controlling the flow through a heat-exchanger, means 40, 42 responsive to pressure in the duct for controlling the valve continuously and means 80, 82 responsive to temperature for controlling the valve continuously in response to temperature of the air discharged from the heat-exchanger. Changes in pressure act on a diaphragm 44 and adjust a flapper 56 in relation to a bleed pipe 60 containing a restriction 62 which creates a pressure difference across a valve actuator 18. The temperature responsive means adjusts a second flapper 100 to vary the pressure drop across a restriction 106 and hence the pressure applied to a diaphragm 46 acting on the first flapper. Stops 63 and 93 limit the adjustments in response to pressure and temperature changes and a spring arrangement 88, 92, 96 makes the temperature sensor independent of supply pressure variations.
