Abstract
1,034,142. Fluid-pressure servometer systems. COMMISSARIAT A. L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. Jan. 18, 1965 [Jan.30, 1964], No. 2094/65. Heading G3P. In a control system for a valve of the type comprising a servomotor having a diaphragm 6 connected to the valve closure member 3 and acted upon by fluid supplied by a conduit 8 having a nozzle 10 controlled by a vane 11 carried by a lever 12 pivoted at 13 and acted upon by a control pressure via a bellows 14, the resilient means providing a feed-back link to the lever from the closure member has a spring rate which varies according to the position of the closure member. In Fig. the resilient means comprises a first spring 1 connected at its upper end to the lever and at its lower end to a second spring 2 carried on an arm 19 connected to the spindle 5 at the valve. The resilient means thus has a spring rate dependent upon the position of the valve closure member and consequently the relationship between the pressure supplied at 15 and the closure member position is non-linear. In the alternative arrangement of Fig.3a, (not shown) spring 1 is replaced by a rigid rod, whilst in Fig. 4, (not shown) spring 2 is replaced by two obliquely extending springs. In Fig. 5, (not shown) the centre spring and one of the oblique springs of Fig. 4 are combined and the other oblique spring is replaced by a rigid link.
