550,190. Washing steam. FOSTER WHEELER, Ltd. Jan. 24, 1942, No. 1038. Convention date, Jan. 24, 1941. [Class 55 (ii)] [Also in Group XIII] Steam generated in a water-tube boiler is washed in passing between horizontal V-shaped trough members 25 partly filled with fresh feedwater supplied from the feed-pipe 27. The steam is then dried in passing horizontally between vertical V-shaped plates 29. The dried steam is withdrawn through a chamber formed by a depending perforated plate 32 and an inclined plate 34 over the end of the outlet connections 36.
