Abstract
431,037. Heating feedwater. LEWERS, W. H., 47, Victoria Street, London.-(Superheater Co. ; 60, East 42nd Street, New York, U.S.A.) Jan. 31, 1935, No. 3200. [Class 64 (i)] [See also Group XII] To deconcentrate or purify boiler steam by passing it through comparatively clean feedwater in a drum 18, as described in Specifications 408,912, 410,036, and 410,037, the steam is led through a pipe 16a into a longitudinal pipe 25 formed with slots 25<a> and arranged beneath inclined submerged perforated plates 24. The feedwater flows into the space beneath the perforated plates from pipes 40 leading from the inlet trough 39, and after passing through the plates it flows over a plate 28 into the outlet pipe 42. A grating 46 may be arranged in the water space above the inclined perforated plates. The steam is withdrawn through pipes 50.
