Abstract

548,320. Cement guns. WOODWARD, J. C. April 28, 1941, No. 5447. Convention date, March 13, 1940. [Class 20 (ii)] A nozzle for use in spraying cement or concrete, according to the method by which hydration is effected at or near the point of delivery, comprises a hollow cylindrical body 10 with closed end, a conical nozzle 12 with internally rifled surface to mix the material, a supply pipe 16 for the material projecting through the closed end of the body coaxial with the body and the nozzle and a water supply 17 connected to an annular chamber 18 whence water is delivered to the mixture. The annular chamber is formed between a ring 21 projecting from the rear plate of the body and the wall of the body member and the water passes thence through radial apertures 19 in the form of spray to a conical inner chamber 20 wherein a great reduction of pressure occurs as a result of the suction due to the discharge of the material. The body member and the nozzle are formed with abutting flange portions 11 and 13 respectively which are bolted together.
