[Also in Group XXIX] A portable spraying apparatus for multiple purpose uses comprises a receptacle for the material to be sprayed communicating with a spray chamber limited on its front side by a spray outlet and at the rear side by a member provided with a plurality of holes, a plurality of plugs and a plurality of nozzles of different shapes than can be inserted into said holes for the introduction of compressed air into said chamber. For spraying gravel a gravel tank 39 is supplied with air by a line 40 and supplies a spray chamber 37 via an aspirating pipe 38. The chamber has a front circular outlet and its rear is connected to a gun 1 by a ring 8. The rear part of the gun is as shown in Fig. 2, which shows a liquid tank 14 for liquid spraying (see Group XXIX), and is supplied at 4 with compressed air.. The latter flows via a trigger operated valve 26 to passages 30 and holes 11 in an adaptor 10. Depending on the spray jet required one or more nozzles 12 are detachably inserted into the holes and the remaining holes are closed by detachable plugs. Some of the nozzles may be as indicated at 53, Fig. 26, and may give a whirling action to the spray materials.
