Abstract

516,310. Spray-producers. LOGETTE, A. I., and DAINTON,-E. H. July 8, 1938, No. 20312. [Class 69 (iii)] . A spraying nozzle comprises a helically grooved plug 6 furnished at its inlet end with a coned or tapered guide 7 and a spraying head 2 furnished at its delivery end with a coned whirl chamber 4 the plug 6 being secured in the interior of the nozzle so that its coned guide projects into the inlet while the outlet terminates in the coned mixing chamber. The plug is secured in the nozzle by a flange 6a clamped between the body 1 and spray head 2. Interchangeable plugs 6 are provided to vary the quality of the spray. The head may be provided with a shield 9, Fig. 5, having inclined passages 10 through which air may be drawn to facilitate the distribution of liquid.
