Abstract

546,878. Filtering gases. ASH & CO., Ltd., T., LUDLOW, E. D., and MAY, A. I. Dec. 11, 1941,No. 15975. [Class 8 (ii)] A dust filter comprises a sheet metal casing 10 partitioned with a bottom dustcollecting chamber 17 having an air &c. inlet 21, a central filter section divided by a partition 18 into two (or more) chambers, each having an outlet 30 into a common upper chamber 16 connected with a suction fan 11, the outlets 30 being controlled by dampers 32 held in either extreme position by snap springs, each damper connecting its filter chamber either with the air outlet chamber 16 or with atmosphere, through openings 31, accordingly. The filters are tubes of fabric open at the bottom and closed at the top. Baffles 26, 27 and a dust tray 28 are provided in the inlet compartment.
