879,681. Gas filters. WHITE, A. G. July 4, 1960 [May 9, 1959], No. 15986/59. Class 8(2). Sequential reverse flow cleaning of outward flow flilter bags within suction compartments 11, 12, Fig. 1, of a housing 10 partitioned by a central compartment 13 through which passes a dustladen gas inlet duct 14 discharging into a common hopper 15 is effected by inflowing ambient air admitted through apertures 21A or 21B, in the cylindrical casing 21 of a rotary sleeve valve 20 according to the position of the valve aperture 20<SP>A</SP>. The latter extends over 120 degrees so that it may assume a dead position 21<SP>C</SP>, Fig. 4, wherein both compartments 11, 12 are connected to the suction exhaust duct 17.
