909,924. Ventilating. VOKES Ltd. Feb. 10, 1961 [April 7, 1960], No. 12471/60. Class 137. [Also in Group XXVIII] An air-conditioning filter comprises a casing 1, a deeply pleated filter panel 7 within the casing, an air inlet grille 5 through which air flows to the panel and an electric fan 9 for drawing air through the panel for discharge from the filter at a higher speed than the air inlet speed so as to prevent immediate recirculation of cleaned air through the filter. The filter is designed for wall mounting and has an outlet grille 6 which is much smaller than the inlet grille 5. A channel 11 lined with soundabsorbent material is located beneath the outlet grille 6. The filter panel 7 comprises an element 12 made from a graded mixture of fine cellulose and very fine asbestos fibres and which is capable of arresting particles of sub-micronic size ; the pleats of the element 12 are held apart by corrugated spaces 13.
