993,773. Filtering gases; construction of adsorption unit. ISRAEL, STATE OF. Aug. 16, 1963 [Aug. 21, 1962], No. 32522/63. Headings B1L and BIT. A gas filter or adsorber unit comprises inlet and outlet enclosures 6, 7 of triangular prismatic shape and having inlet and outlet ports 8, 9 respectively, and a rectangular box-shaped filter receptacle 10. The unit may be installed in the exhaust duct of a laboratory fume cupboard. By angular displacement of the enclosures 6, 7, the position of the ports 8, 9 may be altered, as shown dotted. One wall 14 of the receptacle 10 is removable for changing the filter element 16. Two filter elements may be used, the first of glass wool or paper to remove coarse particles and the second of esparto grass paper to remove contaminating gases. The inlet pipe may be provided with a fire damper and the inlet enclosure with a bypass air inlet.
