543,251. Push button tuning mechanism. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. (Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken). April 29, 1940, No. 7668. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Nov. 4, 1940.] [Class 40 (v)] [Also in Group XXXVI] Push button tuning is effected by a set of keys such as 1 comprising side plates 2, 3 mounted on a bush 4 rotatable about a fixed hollow shaft 5. Depression of the key causes a stirrup 31, 32, 33 to turn a spindle 28 to move a slidable electrode tuning condenser 38 by an amount determined by the setting of a screw 41 which engages the part 33 of the stirrup. A hooked extension 19 of side plate 3 of the kty cooperates with a spring-controlled locking bar 21 to hold the key in the depressed position. Movement of the spindle 28 also serves to operate a tuning scale pointer through links 29, 30. A two position wave-range switch 39, 40 is operated through spindle 25 and plates 26, 27 by the engagement of rod 23, or 24 by hook 8 or projection 9 according to the setting relative to side plate 3 of a member 7 by means of a screw 17.
