Abstract

814,583. Retractive switches. WEBB CO., J. B. July 25, 1957 [May 16, 1957], No. 23535/57. Class 38 (5). In a non-actuated position of a switch 12, a follower 30 on the pivoted follower arm 31 is urged by a spring 40 into a notch 32 in a circular actuating cam 23, the cam being centred in this position by a spring 21. The ends 24, 25 of the spring abut pins 25, 26 secured to the casing 10 and the cam 23 respectively. Rotation of the cam by means of an actuating arm 44 locked to the cam shaft 19 outside the casing causes the follower 30 to lift and the arm 31 to actuate the switch. The arm 44 is loosely mounted on the shaft 19 and has a toothed hub 50 (Fig. 4) which engages with teeth 56 on a locking piece 53 mounted on a squared extension of the shaft, thus providing for adjustment of the arm relative to the shaft.
