625,068. Push-button tuning mechanism. HANSEN, H. C. Nov. 22, 1946, No. 34742. Convention date, Dec. 10, 1945. [Class 40 (v)] In a, push-button tuning mechanism, as shown, each button 2 is attached to a lever 3 mounted on a common spindle 4 and connected by a helical spring 5 to a second lever 7, 8, carried on a common spindle 6 parallel to the spindle 4, the spring being kept in tension by means of a member 19 between the two levers and attached to the lever 3. The lever 8 bears on the moving plates 10 of the tuning condenser which are attached to a cord driving the rotatable scale 17, the other endof the cord being connected to a helical spring 16 fixed to the frame. On depression of the push-button 2 the lever 8 moves the condenser plates 10 into the required position which is determined by the adjustable stop 22 on the end of the screw 23 mounted in the frame, the lever 3 continuing its motion to cause the member 19 to engage with a common locking bar 27 and also release any other button which may be depressed. The condenser may be inserted and fixed in the frame as a unit independent of the operating mechanism and without affecting the adjustments. For continuous tuning, Fig. 2 (not shown), the appropriate button is pressed and a similar mechanism, but without the adjustable stop portion, moves an arm into contact with a cam which may be rotated by means not shown to move the condenser into any desired position.
