Abstract
228,698. Braid, T. B. Jan. 24, 1924. Wireless tuning- apparatus, adjustment devices for. -A friction wheel 5 for adjusting a variable condenser or like instrument is mounted in a carrier 1, which can be attached tc an instrument panel 11 with a capacity for adjustment thereon tc move the friction wheel towards or awav from the dial 15 or other movable part of the instrument to be adjusted. For this purpose, the rear plate 2 of the carrier may be provided with a threaded stud 9, which passes through a hole in the panel. The carrier is rotated about the stud 9 until the wheel 5 engages the dial 15 with the requisite degree of pressure, and is then clamped in position by a nut 13 and washer 14. An adjusting screw carried by the carrier may also co-operate with a fixed stop on the panel to regulate the pressure between the wheel and the dial. The wheel is rotated by a milled roller 6 on a spindle 7 provided with a knob 8, and the extent of the adjustment effected by the wheel may be registered by means of a scale secured to the wheel.
