Wireless tuning-apparatus, adjustment devices for. - In a coil-holder for wireless reception, one coilcarrier or one set is pivoted and directly operated for coarse adjustment, while the remaining carrier or carriers, corresponding to those normally fixed, are also pivoted and operated through gearing to provide a limited range of movement for fine adjustment. In the holder shown in Fig. 3, the carrier A is mounted on a spindle 6 provided with a knob for direct operation. The carrier B is mounted on a spindle 10 and is adjusted by a knob on a spindle 8 to which is fixed a cam C. The carrier B is maintained in engagement with the cam C by a spring 11. The carriers are mounted between parallel plates 1 connected by bolts. In a modification, the finely adjustable coil-carrier is provided with a curved boss engaging a conical collar on the actuating spindle, which is mounted in a thread bearing. In another modification, the carrier is engaged by the head of a screw mounted in a threaded bearing and provided with a square end on which is mounted a worm-wheel driven by a worm on the actuating spindle. In another modification the carrier B, Fig. 7, mounted on the spindle 10, is provided with a socket housing a ball formed on the end of a screw C actuated by a knob 9; in this case no spring is necessary.
