562,717. Sewing - machines. FAIRWEATHER, W. C. (Singer Manufacturing Co.). Jan. 9, 1943, No. 471. [Class 112] The feed wheel 11 of a buttonhole sewing machine is rotated step-by-step by a roller clutch 31, a slotted lever 24 and a link 21 connected to a slide block 23 adjustable in the slotted lever 24. The adjustment of the block 23 is effected from outside the machine by means of a wrench 47 which can be inserted to engage a head 46 on a shaft geared by bevel pinions 44, 43 with a screwed spindle 36 which is threaded through ears 37 on the slide block. In a modification, an additional or alternative adjustment is provided between the pitman actuated by the feed eccentric on the top shaft and a slotted lever carried by the shaft 17.
