Abstract
279,595. Hinderlich, A. Sept. 14, 1926. Piezo-electric units; thermionic generators.-A piezo-electric crystal c is mounted so that the relative positions of the crystal and electrodes b, f may be varied, the electrodes may take up asymmetrical positions, and the crystal may be fixed in position when adjusted. The lower electrode b is supported on a baseboard a. the thin quartz plate c is movable over the. electrode until clamped by members d, and the upper electrode f rests on the quartz and is clamped in the desired position by a strip k connected to a nut h. The nut is so shaped and disposed in relation to a ledge o that a weight p can be applied to increase the pressure. The lower electrode is of approximately the same area as the crystal, but the upper electrode is of smaller area. A circuit in which the quartz can be induced to oscillate is employed to obtain the best adjustment and is then replaced by a circuit better adapted for general purposes.
