Class 40(5) In a radio receiver comprising two separate wave ranges employing separate adjustable tuning elements and tuning indicators, tuning in either range is effected by rotation of a shaft 1, which may be coupled selectively to either of the tuning elements and indicators by means of coupling elements 2, 3 which are loosely mounted on shaft 1 but which may be selectively coupled to the shaft by means of the pin 4 engaging with teeth upon the elements 2, 3, means being provided whereby the element which is not coupled to the shaft is prevented from rotation so long as it remains uncoupled. Thus rotation of the shaft 7; under control of a wave-change switch, in a clockwise direction causes the elements 2, 3 to take up the position shown, the lever 5 being urged by the spring 14 fixed to the shaft 7 to depress the element 3, and hence the arm 16 of: the lever 6, the other arm 15 of which carries the element 2 into engagement with the pin 4. Rotation of the shaft 1 then causes element 2 to rotate and carry around the driving cord 8. while element 3 is held against any chance rotation by being gripped between the lever 5 and arm 16 of lever 16. On subsequent operation of shaft 7 in an anticlockwise direction, the tuning corresponding to the original position of the'element 3 is restored and element 2 is held to prevent its movement so that the tuning corresponding to its setting can be easily regained. In a modification. Fig. 4 a simple lever mechanism 25 provides the axial movement of the elements 2, 3, the elements being held against chance rotation by spring strips 17, 18 which bear against them.
