Abstract
566,177. Locking levers. POULTON, G. W., and ROCKWELD, Ltd. March 22, 1943, No. 4611. [Class, 80 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] Consists in means for locking rotary control devices, e.g. rotary switches. To the frame plate 11 of the switch is secured a serrated ring 10 concentrically with the switch spindle 12, the upper end of which projects through a bush 20 into a casing 13 serving as a handle and provided with a knob 14. The casing pivots about a pin 15 passing through the spindle and through a pair of plates 16 carrying a lug 9, the lower end of which is shaped similarly to the serrations. The spindle supports a radially extending bar 18 between the outer end of which and the casing a spring 19 is located. To adjust the spindle, the knob 14 is depressed and rotated and, when released, the casing is returned by the energized spring to cause the lug 9 to engage accurately in its new serration. The ring 10 may rotate with the handle and engage a fixed lug, and the casing may be raised to release the lug 9.
