757,275. Seats. MISCHKE, K. Aug. 18, 1954 [Aug. 25, 1953], No. 24066/54. Class 52(2). A swivel chair provided with a device to prevent rotation when the chair is not loaded but allow rotation when loaded has a hollow column 1 receiving a rod 2 rigidly connected with the seat (not shown) and provided with an axially adjustable clamping piece 3 with screw 4 operated by a nut 5 and lever 5a the clamp 3 carrying jaws 6, 7 with locking pins 6a, 7a, a ring 8 being fixed to column 1 and having a crown of radially directed grooves 8a to cooperate with the pins. A spring 9 between clamp 3 and ring 8 engages the locking means when the seat is unloaded.
