899,264. Strip perforating machines. FAIRCHILD CAMERA & INSTRUMENT CORPORATlON. Sept. 9, 1958 [Dec. 27, 1957], No. 28852/58. Class 100(3) A keyboard perforator and counter apparatus, having an indicating device, such as described in U.S.A. Specification Re22,350 has a selector pushbar arrangement comprising four elements one of which is a spring which biases the elements to a predetermined position. A key action push bar mechanism 41 is interposed between the key lever 23 and pairs of count code blades 38. The mechanisms 41 are mounted by rollers on a track so as to be movable during case shift to engage either of the blades 38 in each pair. Each push bar 42 is pivoted on the bar 47 and is connected by a depressing rod 43 with a pivot link 44 pivoted on a plate 46 while a spring 45 biases the four elements so that their point of equilibrium is above the line joining the pivots 46, 47 which are fixed in the apparatus. The push bar 42 thus normally engages an up stop 71 or the link 44 engages an up stop 50. Depression of a key causes its lever 23 to engage and depress the rod 43 so that the push rod 42 is moved opposite a code blade 38 and into engagement with a universal operating blade 58 which is caused by a square shaft 53 connected to a main cam shaft to move the push bar to the left and back to actuate the blade 38 when, at the end of the key depression, a clutch is tripped causing the main cam-shaft to rotate.
